Record Breaking Carol Singing on 18 December 2011
On Sunday 18 December 2011, Memorial Community Church took part in the Guiness World Record Attempt for the Largest Group of Carol Singers Across Multiple Venues - along with over 17,000 other singers in different venues.
Over 50 people from the Memorial Church, other churches and the local community joined in the attempt at 7 pm and participants sang all the required five carols in a row uninterrupted. They sang some more carols just for fun, and a good time was had by all!
The record attempt was organised by Premier Christian Radio, and about 17,117 people across the UK united to sing a programme of festive favourites. The carollers beat the existing record of 15,000 singers set in 2009 by Disney.
