Memorial Community Church was formed in January 2006 when the congregation of Memorial Baptist Church, Plaistow, welcomed the congregation from neighbouring St Andrew’s church, who had to move out of rented premises, to work and worship together with them in their building.
The congregation reflects its location in Newham: London's youngest and most multicultural borough. It is involved in the local community through projects such as Bridges and youth work, and links with other groups such as Alternatives' We Are Family Project and Transform Newham's group of four churches in Plaistow.
We are a church that values everyone, epecially those who don't easily find a welcome elsewhere. And we are working to reflect that in the way we use the buildings that have been entrusted to us.
You can find out more on our website, in our monthly magazine and in the newsheet called Neighbourhood News we distribute in our immediate area. You'd be welcome to join us on a Sunday at 10.30 or drop in during the week.
Memorial Community Church is a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
